Growing in viewership and popularity, marketing industries have taken notice. The Milwaukee Bucks are opening a studio dedicated to eSports, brand partnerships and content creation. The Racine School District has a full time position dedicated to Virtual Reality and eSports. There are more and more grants for eSports available for colleges across the country. How are brands capitalizing on this growing trend? How is it impacting the marketing world?

Mike Dahle

Coordinator of Wisconsin High School eSports Conference

Mike Dahle is the Coordinator of Wisconsin High School eSports Conference. He has worked as the coordinator for over 4 years and developed an environment for high school students to compete through. Dahle recruits staff to advise and coach these organizations throughout the state. There are 21 schools competing in the conference, and they hope to keep those numbers growing. The main goal of the conferences are to not only get students involved within their schools, but to provide additional opportunities for college recruitment of an underrepresented student demographic.

A leader in connecting and promoting esports in education. He has had a role in starting and growing esports teams in two large urban school districts. He actively promotes esports as being a medium to something more for students beyond the games. His podcast, The Academy of Esports, delves into topics surrounding esports and education and connecting into powerful ideas to increase student agency, motivation, and college and career pathways. James is a doctoral candidate at Northern Illinois University in the field of instructional technology and an active rugby player.
